Supporting cooperative urban cotton cultivation programs to help communities, it was grown in small agricultural plots by rural artisans and indigenous families in the High Jungle of Peru, achieving that native cotton has replaced several thousand hectares of cultivated coca leaf underground; from this, the fatally addictive cocaine paste is synthesized.
Today, hundreds of Indian farmers and peasants benefit from the rebirth of native and organically grown cotton.
